Updating Your CV - Future Pathways

Future Pathways takes place over 6 sessions and covers the following topics: Module 1 – Discover Your Value Aim - To identify each learner’s skills, knowledge, achievements and personal qualities and recognize their value to an employer.  To build confidence and develop greater self esteem based on their abilities and qualities.

Module 2 – Preparing Your CV

Aim - To understand the purpose of a CV, what the employer is looking for, and how to present the information.  To produce a personal profile and identify transferable skills.

Module 3 – Preparing Your CV

Aim - To complete a CV and present it effectively.

Module 4 – Applying for a Job

Aim - To complete an application, including the form and the covering letter so as to effectively answer a job advertisement.

Objectives

Module 5 – The Interview

Aim - To gain confidence through understanding the interview process and how to prepare for an interview.  To understand how to make the most of an interview by communicating effectively verbally and non-verbally.

Module 6 – The Way Ahead

Aim - To gain an awareness of the career choices available and those which match your skills and interests.  To gain confidence and gather information and advice to take the next steps in your career.
